Sustainability
It is close to our hearts as the Maria-Theresia Kindergarten to impart knowledge about nature and the environment to the children, as well as to instill a love of nature. With changing environmental educational offers we teach the children a responsible and respectful interaction with people, animals and our nature.
In our everyday life and in various projects we pay attention to this by:
- making different natural conditions tangible for humans and animals (e.g. flower meadow for insects...)
- growing fruits, vegetables and herbs, taking care of them, watching them grow, harvesting and preparing them
- use nature as an inspiration and resource for sensory experiences and our creativity
- be mindful of the consumption of animal foods (in moderation and consciously)
- buy food regionally and conscientiously (e.g. cold cuts from the butcher, reduce packaging/waste...)
- be mindful of other living creatures by feeding animals in the winter and creating habitats for them on our outdoor grounds (insect hotel...)
- getting out into the fresh air on a regular basis (outdoor area, trips to nature...)
- taking part in the Glückskinder project
